Seamless cylinder-tubes and piston rods

Seamless cylinder tubes are ready-to-install components for the manufacture of all types of working cylinders and are used in hydraulics and pneumatics. The inner surface is formed (rolled) or machined (honed). 

Hard chrome plated piston rods are ready-to-install components for the production of all types of working cylinders and are used in hydraulics and pneumatics.

Seamless hot rolled thick wall tubes drilled out and honed

Similar to seamless cold-drawn cylinder tubes, cylinder tubes can also be manufactured from hot-rolled thick-walled tubes. This is particularly important in the case of special dimensions, especially thick wall thicknesses. During production, the inner diameter is first drilled out and then honed to the required inner tolerance. The mechanical properties of the hot-rolled steel tubes are not affected by the machining process.

  • Roundness ≤ ½ the tolerance of the diameter

  • 20MnV6: good weldability
  • Ck45: conditionally weldable
  • 42CrMo4V: conditionally weldable

chromium layer

  • Thickness ø ≤ 18 mm: ≥ 14 μm, ø ≥ 20 mm: ≥ 20 μm
  • Roughness Ra max. = 0.2 μm

Chromium layer
